Gasser Donates Chairs to Tyler History Center
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Gasser Chair Co. has donated chairs to the Tyler Mahoning Valley History Center in support of the $6 million fundraising campaign to develop this new facility in downtown Youngstown.
The Gasser donation includes 200 hospitality chairs for events that will be held in the Paul & Marguerite Thomas Ballroom on the second floor as well as the Anne Kilcawley Christman Discovery Gallery on the third floor. In addition, Gasser has provided 16 upholstered sidechairs for the Public Reading/Research Room for the new Historical Society Archives in the basement of the Tyler History Center. The fair market value of the donation is just over $31,000, which brings the campaign pledges and in-kind gifts to $4,832,000, or 80.5% of its goal, says the Tyler Center's executive director, H. William Lawson.
“Gasser’s commitment to provide chairs for the Tyler History Center is exemplary,” states Lawson. “The Gasser family embodies the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship that is synonymous with the history of the Mahoning Valley. They are known for their quality workmanship, and we are so pleased that we will be able to provide visitors with comfortable, durable, and beautiful seating.”
