Dollar General Grand Opening Saturday in Boardman
BOARDMAN, Ohio -- Dollar General, based in Goodlettsville, Tenn., will celebrate the opening of its newest store here, 8561 Market St., at 8 a.m. Saturday.
Free prizes and special deals will be offered and the first 50 adult shoppers will receive a $10 Dollar General gift card and the first 200 a Dollar General tote bag.
“Dollar General is committed to delivering a pleasant shopping experience that includes a convenient location, a wide assortment of merchandise and great prices on quality products,” said Dan Nieser, senior vice president of real estate and store development, in a prepared statement. “We hope our Youngstown customers will enjoy shopping at Dollar General’s new location.”
Dollar General operates 10,000 stores in 40 states and reports annual sales of $14.8 billion.
The company's stores provide a focused selection of national name brands and private brands of food, housewares, seasonal items, cleaning supplies, basic apparel and health and beauty products, Nieser said. The layout of the store is designed to make shopping simple for customers. For example, seasonal products are displayed in the center of the store and departments are easily identified by easily visible signage. Coolers are at the front of the store.
Dollar General stores tend to employ six to 10 people, depending on need, Nieser noted, adding that anyone interested in employment can visit the career section at the company's website.
