Chevy Cruze Top Seller in Valley in November
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Chevrolet Cruze was the best-selling new vehicle among dealers in the Mahoning Valley, according to a monthly report issued by the Automobile Dealers Association of Eastern Ohio.
The ADAEO report showed that 90 new Chevrolet Cruzes were sold by dealers in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties last month, down from 116 sold during the same period last year.
General Motors Co.'s Lordstown Complex, which builds the Cruze, reported it manufactured 22,329 new Cruzes during the month. Earlier the automaker said that it sold 16,807 new Cruzes nationwide in November, a 27% increase compared to last year.
The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup truck proved the second-best seller in the region with 73 sold. The Chevrolet Equinox sold 67 new units. The fourth-best seller was the Honda Civic with 61 new cars and trucks sold. And the Ford F-150 pickup posted the fifth-highest sales with 59.
Overall new sales in the Valley stood at 1,733 in November, off just 1% versus 2011. Combined new and used vehicle sales were down 2.4%, ADAEO reported.
Bob and Chuck Eddy Chrysler Dodge Jeep, Austintown, reported the highest sales among the Valley's dealerships with 91 new cars and trucks sold. The Honda Store, Boardman, reported 86 new vehicles sold. Greenwood Chevrolet, Austintown, said 83 new vehicles rolled off its lot last month. Fred Martin Ford/Mercedes Benz, Austintown, said it sold 76 new vehicles and Sweeney Chevrolet, Boardman, reported sales of 73 new cars and trucks.
