CenturyLink to Establish Regional Training Facility
WARREN, Ohio -- The Warren and Trumbull County Community Improvement Corp. is partnering with CenturyLink to establish a regional training facility at 220 S. Park Ave.
The training center, located in CenturyLink’s facility downtown, will bring a minimum of 100 CenturyLink employees from the Midwest for training activities each year. Training to be conducted at the center will include multi-day sessions focused on cable splicing and installation and high-speed Internet and fiber training.
“The partnership between the CIC and CenturyLink is a new approach for the CIC, but reflects our continuing commitment to the development of business opportunities in the Warren area,” said John L. Pogue, chairman of the Warren and Trumbull County CIC, in an announcement released by the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber.
Added Kelly Blay, vice president/general manager of CenturyLink of Ohio, “The CenturyLink Training Center keeps our technicians and training dollars local and will utilize space in our downtown building that was made available for this project. The facility has the space and technology to offer world class training to our workforce that meets the high-tech demands of our industry. We are pleased to have the opportunity to work together with the CIC to bring this project to the area.”
