Single-Family House Sales See Slight Lift in July
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- A total of 468 houses were sold during July in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties last month, data provided by the Youngstown Columbiana Association of Realtors shows.
In Mahoning County, 224 single-family houses were sold in July, up from 212 a year earlier and from 209 in June. In Trumbull County, 172 units were sold last month, up modestly from 170 the month before and from 167 a year ago. In Columbiana County, single-family sales totaled 72, down slightly from July 2013’s 78 and June’s 79.
Average sale prices declined over the year in both Mahoning and Trumbull counties, while rising in Columbiana County.
In Mahoning County, the average sale price in July was $104,391, down from both $108,441 a year earlier and from $127,046 in June.
In Trumbull County, the monthly sale price average was $95,906, down from $101,240 last July but up from $90,686 in June.
Columbiana County’s average sale price in July was $114,575, up from $89,698 a year earlier and from $90,211 in June.
Dollar volume in Mahoning County in July totaled $22.9 million, while sale prices ranged from $4,200 to $400,000. In Trumbull County, sales totaled $15.1 million, with individual house prices ranging between $3,000 and $312,000.
In Columbiana County, monthly sales totaled $7.8 million, and individual prices ranged from $2,000 to $271,000.
