PNC Offers Merchants New Mobile Reader Service
PITTSBURGH – PNC Bank has begun offering merchants a mobile reader service through Pogo, a point-of-sale system that connects to a personal technology device such as a smartphone, supported by Apple iOS or Android operating systems.
The bank announced the new product Thursday.
Access to funds occurs as soon as the next day when a merchant connects with his PNC account to Pogo from PNC Bank, according to the announcement.
Other features of the mobile reader service, the bank says, are:
- Custom checkouts by uploading pictures, adding descriptions of the items for sale and scanning barcodes through Pogo.
- Security by swiping all major credit and debit cards to leverage the latest in mobile payment processing.
- Paperless receipts by entering a customer’s email address or phone number, thus sending the customer proof of payment.
- Account management by receiving timely emails that summarize a day’s transactions and details about funds in the merchant’s accounts. The merchant has access to Pogo’s Business Track website to view statements and manage alerts.
- Live customer support 24/7 through emails, phone and online chatting through the Pogo>PNC Bank website.
