Mahoning, Trumbull House Sales Up in February
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Home sales in Mahoning and Trumbull counties improved in February compared to January and February 2013 while Columbiana County’s February sales declined.
In Mahoning County, 158 single-family units were sold in February, up from January’s 123 and more modestly from February 2013’s 152, reports the latest data from the Youngstown Columbiana Association of Realtors. Trumbull County real estate agents sold 120 units in February, up from 107 a year earlier and up from January’s 109. Columbiana County’s sales last month fell to 33 from 51 in January and from 47 a year ago.
Monthly sales by dollar volume in Mahoning County totaled $13.4 million, down from $13.5 million a year earlier but up from January’s $11.3 million. Trumbull County’s $9.4 million in total sales in February was up from $8.7 million in January and from $7.9 million in February 2013. Columbiana County’s monthly sales totaled $3.8 million in February, down from $4.8 million the month before and down from $4.6 million in February 2013.
Columbiana County’s average sale price in February improved from both the prior month and a year earlier. The average sale last month was $116,131, up from $93,964 in January and from $96,913 in February 2013. Mahoning’s average sale price in February, $84,601, was down from $91,495 in January and from $88,824 in February 2013. In Trumbull County, the average sale price for February was $76,635, down from $79,398 in January but up from February 2013’s $73,467.
Sale prices last month ranged between $399 and $400,000 in Columbiana County, $1,000 and $448,000 in Mahoning County, and $3,500 and $313,000 in Trumbull County.
