June Foreclosure Rate Down in Region
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The foreclosure rate in the Youngstown-Warren-Boardman Ohio-Pennsylvania metropolitan statistical area was down in June compared to a year earlier, although the rate of delinquencies more than 90 days increased over the period, CoreLogic reports.
The foreclosure rate was 4.47% in June, down from 4.72% in June 2011. The local rate was higher than the Ohio rate of 3.25% and the U.S. rate of 3.27%. The June 2011 foreclosure rate was 3.44% in Ohio and 3.48% nationwide.
The 90-plus day delinquency rate in the Youngstown-Warren-Boardman MSA was 8.21% in June, up from 8.15% in June 2011. The Ohio rate declined slightly over the year, from 6.62% in June 2011 to 6.58% this year. The 90-plus day delinquency rate for the United Stated was down nearly half a percentage point to 6.76% in June from 7.25% a year earlier.
The delinquency rate for the MSA in June was up from May’s 8.14%, while the foreclosure rate was 4.55% that month.
