JA Gets $5,000 from the KeyBank Foundation
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Junior Achievement of Mahoning Valley Inc. has received a $5,000 grant from the KeyBank Bank Foundation to provide JA programs to underserved students in the Mahoning Valley.
“Every child needs to be given the opportunity to achieve his or her dream to be an entrepreneur, a CEO or a dedicated, productive employee," said Michele Merkel, president of JA of Mahoning Valley, in announcing the grant. "This support from the KeyBank Foundation will help to make these dreams a reality. This grant will help JA to continue to provide the students in Youngstown City Schools with the financial literacy skills they need to survive, thrive, and contribute to our nation’s future.”
JA provides workforce readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy programs for more than 10,000 students annually in Ashtabula, Columbiana, Mahoning, and Trumbull counties.
“KeyBank values our continued partnership with Junior Achievement,” said Jeff Douglas, KeyBank Eastern Ohio Market president. “We recognize the importance of teaching money management from a young age to foster sound financial decisions throughout adulthood.”
