First National Bank Offers Mobile App
HERMITAGE, Pa. -- First National Bank of Pennsylvania has introduced a free app that allows the 30,000 users of its Mobile Banking service to deposit checks by taking pictures of the front and back of a check, Vincent J. Delie Jr. announced Thursday.
Delie is president and CEO of the bank. “We’re one of a select number of banks to offer the service,” he said.
The bank introduced Mobile Banking last June.
In addition to depositing checks, the app allows First National customers to use their mobile phones to check their account balances, review recent activity in their accounts, transfer funds between accounts, pay bills, change and cancel pending payments and locate offices and ATMs of First National Bank.
Customers must be enrolled in the bank’s online banking to enroll in Mobile Banking, the bank says. It advises customers to use the Options Tab or when the opportunity to enroll in Mobile Banking appears the first time the customer logs into FNB-Online Banking. The customer chooses the accounts he wants access to.
The customer’s personal or financial information is not stored in his mobile phone, the bank says, and it “employs industry best practices with regard to security” to ensure those not authorized to use the customers’ accounts don’t. The customer must enter his password to access his accounts.
FNB Mobile Banking works on all major service carriers in the United States, the bank says, and a small number of smaller services although a carrier might limit fullest use of the app.
