First National Bank Donates $20,000 to Foundation
HERMITAGE, Pa. -- First National Bank of Pennsylvania has donated $20,000, through the state Education Improvement Tax Credit program, to the Shenango Valley Foundation.
The foundation is a public nonprofit organization that supports philanthropic efforts to enhance the quality of life for the residents of western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio.
Rex Knisley, senior vice president of the bank and its regional sales manager for commercial banking, presented a check for $20,000 to Larry Haynes, executive director of the Community Foundation of Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio.
The EITC program, administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Economic and Community Development, allows businesses to claim tax credits equal to 75% of their charitable contributions for one year, with a maximum of $750,000 in such credits per year.
