DiRienzo Buys Huntington Woods Plaza
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Huntington Woods Plaza sold last week for $2.248 million, Edward J. Lewis Inc. reports.
Built in 1985, the strip plaza, located at 1393 Boardman-Canfield Road, was purchased by1393 Properties Ltd., said Jim Grantz, broker associate with Lewis. The company is owned by Henry DiRienzo of H. DiRienzo Properties Ltd., Boardman.
“The buyer saw this property as an excellent redevelopment opportunity,” Grantz said.
According to the DiRienzo Properties website, the plaza will be “totally renovated” and outparcels are available beginning at the intersection at Route 224 and Pheasant Drive. DiRienzo lists five vacant spaces ranging in price from $10- to $12 per square foot.
“He’s calling it a redevelopment plan but it is very fluid,” Grantz said. "He just became the owner Friday so he is working on his plans.”
Current tenants of the 20,935-square-foot property include a Subway franchise, Cards and Collectibles, Senior Independence and a dance studio. The plaza was previously owned by RRI LLC, which bought it in 2004 for $2.7 million, according to Mahoning County property records.
