Cortland Banks Forms Investment Group
CORTLAND, Ohio -- Cortland Banks has formed an investment group and hired two advisers, Brent L. Blaus and Kim S. Powell, to staff it, the president and CEO of Cortland Banks, James Gasior, announced Thursday.
The Cortland Investment Group will help the bank serve the wealth management needs of its customers, Gasior said.
Blaus has more than 17 years of experience in banking and most recently served as a senior financial consultant and team leader for the Huntington Investment Co. in Hermitage, Pa. Before that, he was a financial consultant for Mercer County State Bank Investment Services. At Mercer County State Bank, he helped to establish its investment services division.
Powell, who has been in banking 15 years, “brings a broad range of knowledge stemming from traditional banking to wealth management services,” Gasior said. For the past eight years, she was a financial advisor and vice president of investments with Chase Investments in Ravenna, Kent and Cuyahoga Falls, where she was a recipient of J.P. Morgan’s Assessment Award of Excellence five consecutive years.
