Businesses Led by Women Confident about Economy
NEW YORK -- Women who lead sizeable businesses are far more confident about the health and outlook of the economy than their male counterparts, finds the 2014 Business Outlook Survey conducted by the Women Presidents' Organization.
Just 8% of its members said they believe economic conditions are the biggest threat to increasing their profits, a drop from 50% in last year's findings,
The survey, sponsored by KeyBank's Key4Women program, is conducted annually by the nonprofit, peer advisory group of leaders of multimillion dollar companies. It focuses the attitudes and beliefs of the women who lead female-owned and around the world.
Female-owned companies make up 30% of all U.S. businesses, and nearly nearly $3 trillion of economic activity. They also account for 16% of all jobs.
Year-to-date, 28% of businesses lead by a woman who belongs to Women Presidents have grown 25% or more. Compared to the average U.S. business growth of 5.4%, these top businesses led by woman have outperformed the national average three by times. Forty-two percent of respondents project 2014
