April Home Sales in Valley Keep Pace with 2012
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- April home sales in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties largely kept pace with a year ago, newly released statistics show. Sales last month totaled 391 units in the three counties, nearly matching the 397 units sold in April 2012 and up from 368 in March, the Youngstown Columbiana Association of Realtors reported.
In Mahoning County, 202 homes were sold in April, down modestly from the 206 sold a year earlier and up from the 188 sold in March. Trumbull County’s 130 units sold during April matched those sold a year earlier, and were down slightly from the 137 sold in March. Columbiana County’s sales for April totaled 59 units, slightly under April 2012’s 61 and up from March’s 54.
In terms of dollar volume, sales last month totaled $17.86 million in Mahoning County, down from $18.15 million a year earlier but up from March’s $16.21 million. Trumbull’s April dollar volumel was $10.17 million, up from $9.6 million a year earlier but down from $11.4 million in March. Columbiana’s total last month of $4.45 million was down from $4.65 million the month before and from $4.91 million in April 2012.
The average sale price in Mahoning County last month was $88,422, down from March’s $91,574 and on par with April 2012’s $88,080. Trumbull’s April average of $78,237 was up from $73,878 a year earlier but down from $83,205 in March. The Columbiana April average of $75,478 was down from $80,470 in April 2012 and from $86,157 in March.
Sale prices ranged between $1,000 and $500,000 in Mahoning County last month, $4,000 and $340,000 in Trumbull County, and $10,000 and $245,000 in Columbiana County.
