YSU to Host Sustainable Energy Forum June 2-3
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Youngstown State University will host its sixth annual Sustainable Energy Forum June 2-3 in Kilcawley Center on the YSU campus.
The first day of the event will feature panel discussions on the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, additive manufacturing and 3-D printing, and a research exchange featuring researchers from YSU, Wright State University and Ohio State University.
Following a breakfast reception and an introduction by Dr. Martin Abraham, dean of YSU’s College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, opening remarks will be offered by Dr. Ikram Khawaja, YSU's interim president,U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan, D-13 Ohio; and David Danielson, assistant secretary for energy efficiency and renewable energy, U.S. Department of Energy. Networking and a reception will conclude the day’s events.
The second day’s program will feature a panel discussion on opportunities in natural gas. The event will close with a luncheon June 3 featuring remarks by Trudi Hable, director of Americas sales, energy and utilities industry at Siemens PLM Software, and closing remarks by Abraham.
Other presenters during the two-day event will include Joe Shaw, deputy director of technology partnerships and planning at the NASA Glenn Research Center; Mike Hripko, deputy director, workforce and education outreach, America Makes; and Steve Giles, vice-president of Hull & Associates Inc.
