YSU Business College to Honor 5 Alumni Oct. 17
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Five graduates of the Warren P. Williamson College of Business Administration will be honored Oct. 17 with outstanding alumni awards at Youngstown State University, the dean of the college, Betty Jo Licata, has announced. The event will take place on campus at Williamson Hall.
Those to be recognized are Samuel Grooms, B.S. in business administration, 1981, Outstanding Business Alumnus; Larry Moliterno, B.A., 1985, MBA 1999, Outstanding MBA Alumnus; Thaddeus Smith, MBA 2009, Outstanding Recent Alumnus; Tim Petrey, CPA, CGMA, NSSA, B.S. in B.A. 2009, Outstanding Recent Alumnus; and Jocelyne Kollay Linsalata, B.A. 1974, MBA 1080, Outstanding Service Award.
Grooms, CEO of Hy-Tek Material Handling Inc., Columbus, is responsible for measuring risk, managing growth and maintaining relationships that vendors, bankers and other business partners have with his company. ’s vendors, bankers and other valuable business partners. During his tensure, Hy-Tek revenues have grown nearly sevenfold during the last decade, sales of $72 million recorded in 2013.
Moliterno is president and CEO of Meridian Community Care, a diverse agency that covers both primary and behavioral health care and corporate wellness services. The agency has a budget of $10 million and a staff of more than 200. Moliterno is responsible for all his agency’s operations, which encompass funding, programs, operations, marketing, development and planning.
Smith, vice president of administration at Callos Resources, formerly Callos Companies, joined Callos in 2005 as benefits coordinator. He oversees sales, risk management and human resources.
Petrey began his career in accounting as an intern at Hill, Barth & King LLC, today HBK, in Boardman. Upon graduation, he became a staff accountant with H.D. Davis Associates Inc. Over the past five years H.D. Davis has doubled in size and has offices in Youngstown, Canton and Newberry. He cofounded HD Davis CPAs Geauga in 2013 and H.D. Davis CPAs Canton in January. In July he was named managing partner.
Linsalata, a YSU Foundation trustee since 2007, is vice chairwoman of the its board of trustees and immediate past chairwoman of its governance committee. She is secretary and trustee of the Rainbow Babies and Children’s Foundation and a leader in several initiatives at Case Western Reserve University, including the Inamori Center for Ethics and Excellence.
