YOUNG 2014 Puts Focus on Valley Manufacturing
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- A focus on Mahoning Valley manufacturers will be the theme if this year's YOUNG (Youngstown, Ohio Utica & Natural Gas) Conference & Expo, the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber announced this morning. Also new this year will be golf outing to tee off the two-day event and a job fair to begin the exhibition at the Covelli Centre.
“We’re excited to make the region’s manufacturing sector a focal point of this year’s YOUNG conference,” said Tom Humphries, president and CEO of the Regional Chamber. “It’s noteworthy that the resurgence of manufacturing in the Valley has partly come about from the creation and expansion of manufacturing facilities in the area serving the oil and gas industry.”
YOUNG 2014 will begin Sept. 10 at the Mill Creek Golf Courses with a brunch and golf outing in partnership with Evets Oil & Gas Construction Services. Following the golf outing, and "back by popular demand," the chamber says, will be an evening of casino-themed entertainment complete with complimentary beer and wine and hors d’oeuvres by Blue Wolf Catering
In response to a growing need for skilled and educated workers in the area, YOUNG will feature a job fair open to the public from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 11 at the Covelli Centre. After a lunch break, the business-to-business trade show floor will open at 1 p.m. for registered attendees with the first speaker taking the conference stage at 1:30 p.m.
Speakers will be announced at a later date, the chamber says. The conference will conclude at 5 p.m.
