Williams to Keynote Chamber Forecast Breakfast
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Former Youngstown Mayor Jay Williams will headline the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s 2014 Economic Forecast Breakfast next month.
Williams, who is executive director of the U.S. Office of Recovery for Auto Communities and Workers, will be the keynote speaker for the Feb. 6 event, which will take place at Mr. Anthony’s Banquet Center, Boardman. He is President Obama’s nominee to to become the Assistant Secretary of Economic Development for the U.S. Department of Commerce.
The U.S. Senate Committee on Environment & Public Works is considering Williams’ nomination to the Commerce Department post, in which he would lead the U.S. Economic Development Administration. During his address, he will discuss the status of the U.S. economy, including the auto industry, and his expectations for the future.
Jeff Wagner, senior vice president and chief investment officer at First National Bank of Pennsylvania, will offer an economic update at the event and provide a snapshot of what the Youngstown-Warren region can expect in 2014 and beyond.
The chamber's vice president of economic development, North America, Sarah Boyarko, will round out the event by presenting the chamber’s annual economic development report on the organization’s accomplishments in the Mahoning Valley in 2013.
First National Bank is the event sponsor while the B.J. Alan Co. is sponsoring the video presentation.
