United Way Joins Pizza Hut to Help Success By 6
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The United Way of Youngstown and Mahoning Valley has joined Pizza Hut to raise funds for Success By 6, a program that helps children be prepared for kindergarten, Bob Hannon, president of United Way says.
For every Personal Pan Pizza sold during June, July and August, Pizza Hut will donate 10% of its net sales to Success By 6.
Last year, the promotion raised more than $6,000 for the Success By 6 initiative, Hannon reports.
“The proceeds from this promotion will benefit Success By 6, our pre-kindergarten readiness summer program," Hannon said in a prepared statement.” Last year, nearly 500 children in 18 area school districts benefited from this program better preparing them to start kindergarten in the fall.”
Pizza Hut also will provide lunch one day to each school district while the districts run their Success By 6 units.
All 12 Pizza Hut restaurants in Mahoning and Trumbull counties are participating.
