United Way Donor Wins 2014 Cruze Turbo Diesel
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio --Richard Shafer, vice president of mortgage loan services at Home Savings and Loan Co., is the winner of a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze Turbo Diesel courtesy of Greenwood Chevrolet.
Shafer picked the box with the key that started the new car at the giveaway event last night at Greenwood Chevrolet’s Hummer Building in Austintown. He donates to United Way through a workplace campaign at Home Savings.
Greenwood Chevrolet donated the 2014 Chevrolet Cruze Turbo Diesel to the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley and the United Way of Trumbull as a joint incentive for their 2013 campaigns.
All donors of $156 or more -- $3 a week -- qualified for one chance in the drawing to win the car. Donors of $200 or more -- $4 a week -- received two chances in the drawing. Ten finalists, five from Mahoning County and five from Trumbull County, were selected throughout the 2013 campaign.
In addition to Shafer, the Mahoning County finalists are Patricia Thomas of Gem Young Insurance, , John Dougherty of UAW 1714, Paul P. Hucul of Local 1112 of the United Autoworkers Union, and Joseph Lyons of Youngstown State University. The Trumbull County finalists are Rachel Natali of General Motors, Joe Marsico of Local 1112 of the UAW, Jason Crawford of Trumbull Industries, John Magoulick of Ohio Edison, and Dawn Jacobs of Farmers National Bank.
The finalists were all recognized at the giveaway event for their donations to the local United Ways. Each finalist also received $50 gift certificates to Café Capri or Outback Steakhouse, a $50 gift card to Greenwood Chevrolet, and a free paint protection application from the Auto Butler of Greenwood Chevrolet, which is valued at $89.95.
