Trumbull Partnership Sets 'Safe, Clean & Green Expo'
WARREN, Ohio -- Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership is sponsoring Greater Warren “Safe, Clean & Green” Expo on June 24. The event will take place at The Raymond John Wean Foundation here, and residents, government officials, students and business owners are invited to attend.
The adoption of the Warren's Comprehensive Plan in 2009 encouraged the city to identify and incorporate green, sustainable methods, practices, and initiatives into future planning and redevelopment opportunities, said Lisa Ramsey, partnership development director. TNP, a nonprofit community development corporation, is examining types of land use developments and techniques to stabilize, manage, and enhance both built and natural environments. "The Safe, Clean & Green Expo is one way in which TNP will be connecting our local government, residents and neighborhood groups with these concepts for improving the quality of life in the city of Warren," she said.
At the Expo, residents, government and businesses will engage in panel discussions and interact with 15 exhibitions displayed in Courthouse Square by private, government and sustainability-based organizations. Additionally, keynote speaker Shanelle Smith, director of Emerald Cities Collaborative Cleveland, will share knowledge of best practices from the community, labor, business and government sectors.
Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership promotes the importance of land use, beatification and green infrastructure to the creation of sustainable neighborhoods.
The Expo will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. and is being held in conjunction with the Warren Farmer’s Market, which is held every Tuesday 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
