Treasured Moments Offers Free Gowns to Military Brides
BOARDMAN, Ohio -- Treasured Moments Bridal & Formal will give away designer wedding gowns free of charge to qualified military brides from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday in observance of Veterans Day. The store is one of 20 bridal shops nationwide chosen to participate in this year's Brides Across America program.
The charitable organization is dedicated to providing free wedding gowns for military brides.
"We are happy to continue our salute to military by joining "Brides Across America" for this fifth annual event that helps military brides to realize their dream wedding," said Lorraine Fulks, owner of Treasured Moments Bridal, in a prepared statement. "My husband and I can relate to these young couples, remembering the difficulties of planning our own wedding while Mark was in the Air Force."
Because of of deployment, timing and economic circumstances, many military brides don't have the opportunity for a dream wedding, Fulks noted.
To qualify, the women must be engaged, be on active duty in the military, or have a fiancé on active duty in Iraq, Afghanistan, Qatar, Bahrain, Libya, Kuwait, Korea or Japan. All women must show identification, a copy of deployment papers, orders or other proof to qualify. The women need not reside in the area where the giveaway is taking place. Each store has a set number of gowns and the event is first-come, first-served.
The women should pre-register at this website.
Those who visit her shop will be offered refreshments.
