Thiel College to Honor Hefren-Tillotson CEO
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Kim Tillotson Fleming, chairman of the board and CEO of Hefren-Tillotson Inc., will receive the 2012 Haller Enterprise Institute Entrepreneur of the Year Award from Thiel College. The award will be presented at a dinner Oct. 17.
The dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Sawhill-Georgian Room of Thiel’s Howard Miller Student Center.
Given annually to a business owner who has demonstrated entrepreneurial leadership, the award, in its 18th year, will be presented by Thiel President Troy VanAken and David Miller, Thiel professor and executive director of the Haller Enterprise Institute.
Since 1996, Fleming has served as president of Hefren-Tillotson, a privately held Pittsburgh-based firm that offers financial planning and investment advisory services for individuals, foundations, trusts and qualified retirement plans. In December 2010, she was elected chairman and CEO.
Fleming is a graduate of Northwestern University with a baccalaureate in economics and holds several professional designations. She is a chartered financial analyst charterholder, a graduate and board member of the Securities Industry Institute at the University of Pennsylvania and completed the certification program at the Center for Fiduciary Studies at the University of Pittsburgh.
The Haller Enterprise Institute, originally named the Thiel College Enterprise Institute when it was organized in 1983, was renamed in 1996 when Pittsburgh residents Dr. Henry E. and Grace Mary Haller provided a $1 million gift to develop entrepreneurial education at Thiel College.
