Tech Belt Technology Summit May 15 at YSU
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Data Recovery Services LLC, in partnership with the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber, will host the second annual Tech Belt Technology Summit from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 15 at the Youngstown State University.
The summit provides an opportunity for select vendors and information-technology companies to present their latest technology and solutions to a group of more than 200 northeastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania business decision-makers.
This year will feature three presentation tracks geared toward specific executive levels: chief information officer, owners/CEO, and technology professionals. There will also be four roundtables at lunchtime that feature speakers from Cisco, EMC Corp., Veeam and Hewlett-Packard.
“Our goal is to arm people with knowledge and direction," said Michael Meloy, CEO of DRS. "Attendees will be able to hear from these top-tier vendors, learn about their IT solutions and how to apply them to their own day-to-day business. We had tremendous success with last year’s summit, and we expect attendance to be even higher this year.”
This year also will feature a government roundtable session where CIOs and economic development leaders will meet with attendees to discuss how to leverage technology for economic development. Among the key discussion topics are how to go after grants, forming public-private partnerships, and leveraging shared services.
Probably two of the biggest issues facing local governments right now are the lack of available IT services to businesses for economic growth, and the difficulty in retaining businesses due to lack of technology infrastructure,” Meloy noted “This roundtable will give government officials the direction they need to find the best solutions for their issues, and the information to face the challenges of funding those solutions.”
