Small Ships Revue Ready to Set Sail in Sharon
SHARON, Pa. -- The 33rd annual Small Ships Revue is ready to set sail at Quaker Steak & Lube at 6 p.m. June 28. The Small Ships Revue is presented by Erme Distributing, Miller Lite and Clear Channel.
The pre-party begins at 4 p.m. at Quaker Steak & Lube. Kickoff of the event is scheduled for 6 p.m. with a pre-launch parade through downtown. The ships will make their way to the Shenango River with launch time set for 7 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place as well as in other categories such as most unique and most patriotic. A panel of local celebrities will be on hand to do the judging.
More than $5,000 in cash and prizes, including $1,000 for the 1st place crew, will be awarded. The Small Ships Revue is a “build your own boat-anything floats regatta.” All participants will receive a commemorative T-Shirt.
Live entertainment with Graphic Pink and Pipedreams starts at 8 p.m. A fireworks display by Zambelli Fireworks will light the sky at 10:15 p.m.
The following day is the Quaker Steak & Lube Fake Fest. Randy Velez, the man of 1,000 voices, will hit the stage at 5 p.m. followed by Mr. Speed (Kiss Tribute), Little Ozzy, and headliner Cowboy (Kid Rock Tribute) at 9 p.m. All of their appearances have been made possible by Erme Distributing and Miller Lite.
