Seminar on Fundraising Set for April 12
BOARDMAN, Ohio -- A "Fundraising Classic Seminar" is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. next Friday at the Holiday Inn-Boardman. The event is sponsored by the Mahoning-Shenango Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
Speaker is Barlow Mann, chief operating officer of the Sharpe Group, who will be in the area for the first time to speak to nonprofit organizations and professional advisers.
Barlow consults with national and local nonprofit organizations to design their planned giving programs and trains fundraising professionals across the country. The Sharpe Group specializes in comprehensive gift planning services.
Topics covered are: What motivates donors to give? How will new tax laws affect organizations? What is the best type of giving in this environment?
