Ribbon-Cutting Friday for Village of Arlington
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Jay Williams, former Youngstown mayor and current executive director of the U.S. Office of Recovery for Auto Communities and Workers, at the U.S. Department of Labor, will be the keynote speaker at a Friday morning ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Village of Arlington.
The event, scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Village of Arlington’s community club house, will be followed by an open house that will continue for the rest of the day.
The Village at Arlington replaces one of the earliest and oldest U.S. public housing developments, built in 1938. The new community has 120 modern, energy efficient apartment homes with green space and a community garden. Built and managed by the Cleveland-based NRP Group LLC, the project was made possible through the award of low income housing tax credits to Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority in collaboration with NRP Group.
