YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- An exhibit of rare photographs of the former steel furnaces in Hubbard opens Thursday at the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor here. Admission is free.
The exhibit, “Iron Valley: A Century of Change at Hubbard Furnace,” begins with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. The show features 32 rare photos from the 1870s to the 1960s of furnaces that produced iron in the Mahoning Valley for nearly a century. The photos capture the evolution of the Mahoning Valley in both iron-making technology and labor at the Hubbard furnace.
