Printmaking Exhibit Comes to McDonough Museum
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The 2013 Mid America Print Council Juried Exhibition of 89 artworks will open Thursday at the McDonough Museum of Art at Youngstown State University and run through March 15. An opening reception will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday.
The reception is free and open to the public. At 5:30 p.m., before the reception, Anita Jung, the juror for the exhibition, will present a lecture at the museum. She is a professor of printmaking at the University of Iowa and an artist who uses print as the primary medium for her works of art that have been exhibited throughout the United States and internationally.
The Mid America Print Council is an educational organization whose goal is to promote awareness and appreciation of the art of making original prints, books, handmade paper, and drawings. The McDonough exhibition includes a variety of printmaking techniques and artists from across the country.
The museum is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. For more information, call 330 941 1400.
