Pat Benatar Concert to ‘Jump Start’ Panerathon
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Legendary rock star Pat Benatar will perform Aug. 16 at The Covelli Centre “to jump-start Panerathon week in the Valley,” the arena announced this morning.
A portion of the show's proceeds will benefit the annual Panerathon and the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center.
"We're excited to bring our Panerathon week to another level this year by kicking it off with such a huge name as Pat Benatar!" said Sam Covelli, owner/operator of Covelli Enterprises in Warren. "We're proud to be a part of the exciting things going on at the Covelli Centre and proud to bring the Valley the largest community event around all to help end breast cancer in our area."
The concert is part of what’s being promoted as the ”Greatest Week in the Valley,” which culminates in the 4th Annual Panerathon, 10K/2 Mile Fun Walk/Run and Kids Run.
The Panerathon, also held at the Covelli Centre, is the largest community fundraising event in the area. Over the past three years, it has hosted more than 13,500 participants and raised in excess of $500,000 for the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center.
This year’s Panerathon is expected to grow both in fundraising and in participation, due to the connection with Benatar show, Covelli said.
Benatar will appear with her husband, guitarist Neil Giraldo.
Tickets go on sale May 13 at 10 a.m. on ticketmaster.com, the Covelli Centre Time Warner Cable Box Office, or by phone at 866 448 7849.
Tickets costs are $36.50, $46.50, and $62.
