Oh Wow! Museum Reduces Admission Fee this Weekend
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Thanks to First National Bank of Pennsylvania, visitors to the Oh Wow! Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science & Technology will pay only half of the regular admission this Saturday and Sunday.
This is the second year the bank has underwritten the cost of admission to the public over the Labor Day weekend. “Last year, hundreds of visitors took advantage of the opportunity,” CEO Vincent J. Delie Jr. said. “We had no idea it would be so popular.
Visitors to Oh Wow! can take advantage of an ATM the bank donated to the museum exhibit just before Labor Day a year ago. They can look inside to see what’s involved when it dispenses currency in simulated transactions.
This ATM, however, does not dispense currency. It dispenses coupons on which the children write their names and addresses to enter a monthly drawing where the prize is a First National Bank piggy bank, a spokeswoman says. Inside each piggy bank is “a starter savings amount.”
The Oh Wow! center is on the first floor and basement of the McCrory Building on Central Square in the downtown. It will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. It will be closed Labor Day.
