OEPA Holds Workshop Wednesday on Brownfields
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency is offering a free workshop here to inform communities of state and federal resources available to help redevelop brownfields, or blighted properties.
The workshop will run from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday the Eastgate Council of Governments conference room in City Centre One Building, 100 E. Federal St.
Speakers from the Ohio EPA, Ohio Development Services Agency, U.S. EPA, and Kansas State University (which provides help to communities through a U.S. EPA grant) will address the following topics:
- Clean Ohio Fund
- Voluntary Action Program and statewide inventory of brownfield properties
- Ohio Development Services Agency's Brownfield Revolving Loan Fund
- Ohio Water Development Authority loan programs
- U.S. EPA Brownfield Grants, Technical Assistance to Brownfields program and Targeted Brownfield Assessments
- E-tools for brownfield revitalization and online summary of local resources for small and rural communities
- Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credits
