OEPA to Hear Concerns about Odors in Ashtabula
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency will hold a community meeting at 6 p.m. today to update residents of Ashtabula residents about its efforts to identify and eliminate nuisance odors that originate from the Detrex Corp. property.
The meeting will be held in the Blue and Gold Room of the Kent State University Ashtabula Campus.
Over the last several years, local officials and Ohio EPA have received many complaints from residents and businesses near the company about the odors that it produces.
Through frequent monitoring and inspection, Ohio EPA officials have confirmed the odors come from the site and have been working with the company to correct the problem.
