Nonprofits to Sell Salvaged Housing Materials
WARREN, Ohio -- Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership is working with the Trumbull County Land Bank and Habitat for Humanity to repurpose materials salvaged from abandoned houses before they’re razed by holding sales to the public.
The first effort runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 19 with a public sale at a property owned by the land bank at 195 Belmont Ave. N.W. in the Garden District.
Salvaged materials, which include doors, windows and cabinets, will be offered for sale. Owner occupants who have purchased property from the land bank in the last six months will receive 50% off their purchases.
“This marks the beginning of a long-term effort to make these materials available to the public at deeply discounted prices, says Shawn Carvin, program manager iof the land baank, in a prepared statement. “We are excited for the partnership with Habitat for Humanity for the knowledge and experience they bring to this effort.”
