Lawrence/Mercer Athena Awards to McBride, Radcliffe
WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. -- Women from Lawrence and Mercer counties were honored last night for their professional achievements, their contributions to their communities, and their examples of leadership and mentoring of the next generation of women leaders at the first Lawrence/Mercer County Athena Award Celebration.
The highlights of the evening were the presentations of the Athena Young Professional Leadership Award to Marci Radcliffe of Hermitage and the Athena Leadership Award to JoAnn McBride of New Castle.
The awards were presented by Dianne Dinkel, CEO of Athena International. More than 150 people attended the event, held at the Park Inn by Radisson here.
“We are honoring eight women tonight for their leadership and contributions to their communities,” said Dinkel. “Each award recipient represents her team of amazing women. This is not a competition.”
Radcliffe is the administrative assistant to the chief investment officer and portfolio management team of F.N.B. Investment Advisors Inc., Hermitage, Pa. She was nominated and introduced by Missa Eaton.
McBride is executive director of Lawrence County Tourism Promotion Agency. She was nominated and introduced by Linda Nitch and Therese McShea.
Sponsored by the Women’s Fund of the Community Foundation of Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio, the ATHENA Leadership
The first Athena Leadership Award was presented in 1982 in Lansing, Mich. Since then, the program has grown to include presentations to more than 6,500 individuals in 500 communities in eight countries.
