It’s Daffodil Weekend at Fellows Riverside Gardens
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- This year’s Fellows Riverside Gardens Daffodil Show is set for Saturday and Sunday, says Leslie Cusano, Mill Creek Park marketing manager.
The American Daffodil Society Midwest regional show, presented by Mill Creek MetroParks’ Fellows Riverside Gardens, is one of more than 40 American Daffodil Society shows held this spring throughout the United States.
This weekend will mark the sixth year that a special class features entries of Narcissus “Fellows Favorite,” a daffodil cultivar named for Fellows Riverside Gardens. Brent and Becky Heath of Gloucester, Va. Developed the hybrid cultivar and named it in honor of the 50th anniversary of Fellows Riverside Gardens in 2008.
With more than 160 varieties, Fellows Riverside Gardens is an American Daffodil Society Display Garden and USA Today lists it as one of the nation’s top-10 places to see daffodils. The gardens are open daily from dawn to dusk free of charge.
