'Good Morning, Canfield' to Honor Leaders May 17
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Two Canfield community and business leaders - Bill Kay and Mark Cole - will be honored during a Good Morning, Canfield breakfast set for 7:15 a.m. May 17. Kay is mayor of the city of Canfield and Cole is owner of Peaberry's Cafe & Bakery.
Kay will receive the Spirit of Canfield award for his efforts to promote and improve the Canfield community. He spent 34 years as a teacher, coach and principal in the Canfield schools and has been mayor since 2006.
Cole is this year’s recipient of the Canfield Area Council Business Pride Award, given to a business within the city or township that exemplifies ethical, moral and professional standards in the workplace and has contributed to local economic development. Peaberry's, which has been in business since 1993 and moved to Canfield in 2002, has maintained a tradition of treating its employees and customers as family as well as donating time and products to many charitable causes in the Canfield community.

Its members were named state champions for the first time at the 86th annual Ohio High School Speech League State Tournament in March. Their presentations also will include information on the impact of shale development on the city and township.
