Fundraising Professionals Mark Philanthropy Day Nov. 15
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Mahoning/Shenango Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals will recognize individuals, organizations and businesses at its 23rd annual celebration of National Philanthropy Day Nov. 15 at a lunch at Antone's Banquet Centre, Boardman.
Awards will be given in eight categories: Covelli Enterprises, special recognition for impact in the Mahoning Valley; Al and Suzanne Fleming, outstanding philanthropists; Gasser Chair Co., outstanding corporate philanthropist; Olivia Helmick, outstanding young philanthropist; DiRusso’s Sausage, outstanding small-business philanthropist; Rita O’Leary, outstanding volunteer fundraiser and Aut Mori Grotto, outstanding civic organization.
The Legacy Award, presented by the Mahoning/Shenango Planned Giving Council, will be given posthumously to Angela, Jenny and Josephine Kikel.
Registration and a reception are set for 11 a.m. and the luncheon at noon. Tickets are $30 per individual. Checks should be sent to AFP Mahoning/Shenango Chapter, P.O. Box 672, Youngstown, OH 44501. Reservations must be received by Nov. 4.
National Philanthropy Day was created by an Act of Congress in 1986.
