First Place, Scrappers Team for ‘Every Monday Matters’
WARREN, Ohio -- First Place Bank is partnering with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, Niles, to present the Every Monday Matters program for the Scrappers 2013 season. The program is designed to generate donations for the needy in the Valley.
On the Scrappers’ Monday home games, fans can bring a new book or item of clothing that will be distributed to the needy by local charitable organizations, or nonperishable food items for Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley. They should present them to the Scrappers box office. With their donations, fans will receive a free general admission ticket to the game.
In addition, if fans use a First Place Bank debit card to purchase tickets to a Monday game, First Place Bank will make a donation to the Second Harvest Food Bank at the end of the season.
“During the summer, donations to charities tend to fall off, but the need remains," said Tom Shafer, CEO of First Place Bank. "Every Monday Matters is about helping our neighbors in need while providing free tickets to fans and supporting the Mahoning Valley Scrappers.”
“The Scrappers are committed to community support, and Every Monday Matters is a great way to help the needy while enjoying a night out,” added Jordan Taylor, Scrappers general manager.
Monday home games are scheduled June 17 and 24 and July 15 and 29 at Eastwood Field.
