Fed Bank Official to Address Regional Chamber Aug. 5
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Guhan Venkatu, Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland's vice president and senior regional officer at the Pittsburgh branch, will discuss growth and employment changes since the recession across the Reserve Bank's major metropolitan statistical areas during a Regional Chamber luncheon Aug. 5 at Mr. Anthony’s, 7440 South Ave., Boardman.
Venkatu will review what the recovery has meant to the region in terms of jobs, output, earnings and housing, according to an announcement from the chamber. He also will share the Reserve Bank's views on the key determinant of differences in metro area performances.
With more than 15 years of Federal Reserve Bank experience, Venkatu rose through the ranks, starting as a research analyst and working his way to vice president and senior regional officer. As the senior official of the Pittsburgh Branch, he manages relationships with key stakeholders in the area and is responsible for monitoring the region's economic environment. He is a member of the Ohio Governor's Council of Economic Advisors and serves on the boards that oversee the Economic Club of Pittsburgh and Economics Pennsylvania. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in economics at Miami University.
The luncheon starts with registration at 11:15 a.m., followed by lunch and program at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $25 for chamber members and $35 for non members.
