Facebook, Chambers Host Free Workshops for Business
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Between June 30 and July 2, Facebookâs Small Business Boost will blitz northeastern, central and eastern Ohio to teach small-business owners how to use social media to boost their sales. One event, sponsored by the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber, is scheduled for 9 to 10:30 a.m. July 1 in Canfield.
The Canfield session will be held at the Joyce Brooks Conference Center in the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, where U.S. Reps. Bill Johnson and Tim Ryan, R-6 Ohio and D-13 Ohio respectively, will greet participants.
Particpants will have the opportunity to network and hear firsthand from Ohio small-business owners who have achieved success through Facebook. Each Small Business Boost workshop will feature a panel of three small businessmen who will relate their experiences.
Facebook provided these statistics on how it can benefit small enterprises:
- There are more than two billion connections between small businesses and people who use Facebook.
- There are more than 30 million small businesses that use Facebook to connect with their customers.
- In an average week, there are more than 645 million views of, and 13 million comments on, business Facebook Pages.
- Facebook advertising reaches 89% of its intended audience, on average, compared to just 38% of online ads at large.
