Energy Jobs Fair Takes Place Monday in Boardman
BOARDMAN, Ohio -- U.S. Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, the Ohio Oil and Gas Association and the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will host an Energy Jobs Fair Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Boardman. Portman will appear at the event at 8:45 a.m., according to the senator's office, to meet with job seekers and take questions from the press.
The event will provide an opportunity for job seekers to discover training and employment opportunities in the oil and gas industry.
“Northeast Ohio is at the forefront of cutting edge technology, particularly in the field of oil and natural gas development,” said Portman, R-Ohio. “As production in the Utica ramps up, companies will need to fill thousands of skilled positions. This career fair will connect Ohioans with potential employers and enable us to take full advantage of this great natural resource.”
According to the Ohio Oil and Gas Association, more than 200,000 Ohio-based oil and gas industry-related jobs are projected by 2015. The trade group's estimate is based on a study by Kleinhenz & Associates, Cleveland.
