Cyber Security Workshop at Penn State Shenango
SHARON, Pa. -- It isn't necessary to click on anything online to download malware to your computer, tablet or mobile device. Merely visiting the wrong website can lead to a sluggish machine or loss of data. To help, the Technology Council of Northwest Pennsylvania will host a workshop, “Cyber Security for Everyman,” at the Penn State Shenango campus here.
The video conference will last from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. April 25 in Sharon Hall room 215. The event is free to all members of the technology council as well as Penn State students, faculty and staff. Community members may attend the workshop for a fee of $15.
The cyber security workshop will cover threat identification, device risk overview, browser security, and protection/encryption. Participants will learn about the most recent threats to personal stored data. From social engineering to drive-by malware, the workshop, presented by Peggy Considine, systems administrator at Penn State University, will outline common cyber threats as well as techniques and applications that can be implemented.
Registration is required. Call Lisa Bertin at 724 983 2908.
