Chamber's YOUNG 2012 Expo Set for Sept.6-7
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Regional Chamber’s Youngstown Ohio Utica & Natural Gas 2012 Conference & Expo will be a two-day event this year. The event, scheduled to begin Sept. 6, will feature prominent speakers from the shale industry.
The main conference and exposition is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. inside and outside the Covelli Centre in the downtown. The agenda for the second day begins at 8:30 a.m. and runs until noon at the Holiday Inn- Boardman. Last year’s conference, held Nov. 30, attracted large crowds, officials said.
Featured speakers at the main event include keynoter Harry Schurr, general manager of Consol Energy’s Utica Operations and Hess J.V.; David Mustine, JobsOhio managing director for energy, chemicals and polymers; John Bonn, president, NiSource Midstream Services; Scott Hallam, manager of development and operations, Access Midstream (formerly Chesapeake Midstream); and Sean Clawges, director of global manufacturing, Exterran Energy Corp. Exterran is building a new plant in Youngstown to serve the shale industry.
Joel Mastervich, president & CEO of V&M Star, Youngstown, is expected to give a forward-looking discussion of his plant’s capabilities as a global solution center, the chamber said.
Regional Chamber Vice President Eric Planey, who coordinates shale development activities, said Young 2012 should cement the event as the No. 1 industry trade show for the Utica shale development. “Young 2012 will live up to the expectations started with our inaugural event last November,” he emphasized. “This year, it is bigger, and will cover a two-day period. We have a significant increase in key industry players, including E&P companies, oilfield services, midstream, and component manufacturers.”
Added Sarah Boyarko, chamber vice president for economic development, “For those local companies who are not already producing a product or supplying a service, Young 2012 is the perfect opportunity to meet the companies at the forefront of this economic boom.” Not only manufacturers should benefit from the event, she said, but service-related industries as well. “This forum continues the initiatives of the chamber to keep Valley companies in the know for all things shale,” she said.
