Chamber Sets Health Care, OHSA Programs
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will offer programs Jan. 9 focusing on health care and record-keeping for health and safety requirements.
“Health Care Reform: Are You Ready?” will feature a panel of industry experts to help chamber members understand the Affordable Care Act, public and private insurance exchanges, small business tax credits, potential penalties for employers and the impact of community ratings to businesses and employees. The panel will include John Cooper of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Jim Rosa of Hill, Barth and King and George Millich of Harrington, Hoppe and Mitchell.
The event, to be held at the Holiday Inn Boardman, is open only to chamber members. Registration and a continental breakfast will start at 7:30 a.m. followed by the program.
Presented later in the day by the Mahoning Valley Safety Council, the second program Jan. 9 will focus on record-keeping for Occupational Health and Safety Administration. During the program, “Object Lessons in Advanced OSHA Recordkeeping,” Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation's Brian Zachetti will primarily focus on ensuring that accurate records are maintained. Participants will learn record-keeping requirements for workplace injuries and illnesses, proper use of OSHA record-keeping forms, the scope and requirements of Regulation 1904 and guidelines for recordable and non-recordable workplace injury interpretations.
Registration and lunch will be at 11:30 a.m., followed by the program. The event, which will take place at Antone’s Banquet Center in Boardman, will cost $20 for chamber members and $30 for non-members.
Advance reservations for both events are requested by Jan. 3 and can be made here.
