Arts Mean Business to Hold 3rd Session Wednesday
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Tricia Ostertag, community arts manager of Arts in Stark, will be the featured presenter at “Show Me the Money! Finding Grants and Commissions,” the third installment of the four-part professional development series, The Arts Means Business.
Arts of Stark is a non-profit organization in Stark County that awards grants, manages the Cultural Center for the Arts and runs the Annual Arts Campaign.
Scheduled for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, the event will be held at the Raymond John Wean Foundation in Warren. Youngstown State University’s College of Creative Arts and Communication and the community arts and cultural group, Power of the Arts, are presenting the series, with additional support from the Wean Foundation.
The series is designed to help artists thrive. The session on Oct 1 will provide an overview of how artists can connect to benefactors through grants for artist projects, commissions for public art, and artist in residency placements.
“Connecting to benefactors to produce art projects can be challenging; yet opportunities for artists are more plentiful than one might think,” said Bryan DePoy, CCAC dean.
