3 Talks on Stress Kick Off Davis YMCA Fall Series
BOARDMAN, Ohio -- The Davis Family YMCA Annual Fall Lecture Series begins Sept. 25 with "Dealing Effectively with Stress."
They will be delivered from 6 to 7:30 p.m. that date, Oct. 2 and Oct. 9 in the Community Room at the Davis Family YMCA and are free and open to the public.
The three-part series features Dr. Rachel Hoffman, clinical director at a behavioral health organization and an adjunct faculty member in the counseling programs at both Youngstown State and Walden universities.
Other topics and dates:
- Dec. 11: "Seasonal Affective Disorder."
- Jan. 15, 2014: "Sticking with New Year's Resolutions: How to Create and Maintain Change."
Hoffman has written more than 15 articles in scholarly journal, made more than 70 times presentations at national, state and local conferences and workshops, and has obtained diverse field experience in addictions treatment, community-based mental health, inpatient psychiatric services and college counseling. "This lecture series is modeled around the idea that mental health is physical health,” she said. “Complete wellness means taking care of your mind, body and spirit."
