19th Annual 'Mad About the Arts' Feb. 21
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The 19th annual Mad About the Arts is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Feb. 21 at the McDonough Museum of Art on the campus of Youngstown State University. The event benefits the McDonough Museum and 88.5, WYSU FM.
The event begins with a presentation of wine craft and connoisseurship hosted by Ed Goist. The main event follows at 7 when the YSU Jazz Ensemble II performs and sample appetizers, beverages and desserts from a dozen local vendors are served. At 8:30 p.m., pianist and YSU faculty member Alton Merrell takes the stage with his jazz trio.
On display will be “Uncharted,” the biennial exhibition of current research by faculty of the art department. The exhibition highlights the works of Claudia Berlinski, Missy McCormick and R.J. Thompson, recent additions to the department faculty.

Cost is $80 per ticket, or $65 for McDonough members, WYSU members, YSU faculty, staff, students and fine arts alumni.
