Kent State to Break Ground for $47.8M Architecture Center

The final coats of paint were being applied and the last of the sidewalks built as students set foot on campus for the first time or returned after a summer of working in clinics and hospitals.
Eastern Gateway Gets $2.5M for New Machining Center
Monday, September 29, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Eastern Gateway Community College plans to establish a new machining and welding training center in the Mahoning Valley, helped along by a $2.5 million direct federal grant and an additional $1 million in federal monies through a statewide consortium, a spokeswoman said today.
"It's going to focus on a shared facility potentially with Youngstown State University and other career centers as they choose to participate," reported Ann Koon, Eastern Gateway’s director of public information.

YSU Names Sturrus Interim Dean of STEM College
Friday, September 26, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Gregg Sturrus, chairman of the department of physics and astronomy at Youngstown State University, has been named interim dean of the YSU College of Science, Technology, Education and Mathematics effective Oct. 8, pending approval by the university board of trustees.
The office of the president issued the announcement to the YSU campus Thursday afternoon, a spokesman said.
Sturrus would succeed Martin Abraham, earlier named interim provost and vice president for academic affairs.
